In scholastic philosophy, first principles are those which, due to their axiomatic nature, cannot be deduced from one another. They are the principles by which one begins to develop an understanding of other things. Father Wathen uses these principles, many of which are now lost on the modernist mindset of the purely subjective, to establish an objective basis for reasoning against the aberrations of the post-Conciliar Catholic Church.
